Program Structure

International School students attend classes in a block schedule, which encompasses seven subjects throughout their seven years in attendance, which ensures a deep and sustained focus on core learning. All International School students will take seven years of each of the following disciplines: 

  • Humanities 

  • International Studies 

  • Science 

  • Math 

  • World Language (French) 

  • Physical Education / Health 

  • Arts (Band, Choir, Orchestra, or Visual Arts) 

Some of the disciplines are comprised of students from multiple grades in a 2-year looped course. Many disciplines are designed to culminate in one or more Advanced Placement courses in high school. Here are representations of the course of curricular sequence at International School:

International School does offer students the opportunity to take Computer Science courses in grades 11 and 12 and replace specific courses each year that have been pre-determined by the school.
